Yo, just dropping by to discuss the latest news in the entertainment industry! Take a look at this:
I’m honestly excited. It looks much more interesting than Origins: Wolverine, and better yet, it looks like it’s trying to wash out the bad taste of X-Men 3: The Last Stand.
Taking place in the 1960s, the new film chronicles the beginning of the X-Men and the friendship between Magneto and Prof. X (when he still had hair and kneecaps). The yellow costumes look a trifle campy, but this is the 60s, right? Everyone wore camp.
The cast is compelling, too: James McAvoy (Chronicles of Narnia, Wanted) and Michael Fassbender (300, Fable III) play the Professor and Magneto, respectively. It’s got Kevin Bacon, too, and Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy) plays Beast! That’s so awesome!
Hugh Jackman is strangely absent, a first for the film series, but maybe that’s exactly what it needs to stay fresh. I hope it works out, ’cause this trailer has me psyched. Signing out.

Tapping into the Kennedy era is interesting and fresh. JFK was a much more hawkish president than people remember. I’ll be waiting to see how loosely the filmmakers portray him.
As for Hugh Jackman, he has probably — alas — aged out of this role.

I agree, it looked good, and fresh. Mining more from the Magneto vs Prof X is fine by me, that relationship was always fraught with drama.
